The director and owner, Nancy Southcott, began her journey into provision of psychotherapy in 1997. When Nancy was a child, her auntie suffered with Schizophrenia, and she witnessed the impact on her entire family system. Since she was a child, Nancy was fascinated about the human brain, a natural empath drawn towards helping friends and loved ones with their own wellbeing needs.

Later in life, Nancy suffered trauma and utilised trauma informed therapy herself, and then dedicated her life work towards helping others. At the core of Retreats 4U is the passion and dedication Nancy puts into each one of her clients since 1997.

Nancy Southcott 

Director and Owner

My name is Nancy, a dual American and British citizen, mother and grandmother. I studied psychology and Social Work, and hold a Master degree from the United States. I am curious and constantly learning from life and my clients. Over my 27-year career, I have worked in various mental health and social care settings including hospitals, outpatient services, local authorities, NHS, and private practice.

I specialize in EMDR and integrative psychotherapy with an attachment-focused background. My passion lies in helping individuals work through trauma and attachment difficulties, improving recovery goals and outcomes. I am drawn to the healing properties of the ocean and nature, with a reverence for how the elements heal us.

My specialities are:

C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, family systemic issues, self-worth, neurodiversity in mental wellbeing, mindfulness, solution focused work, eating disorders/traits, and personality difficulties.

Maya Angelou was an inspiration to me, and she once said: I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. Authentic connection is at the heart of my partnership with clients towards recovery. I love anything outdoors, especially hiking, swimming in the ocean, travel, art, meeting new people, cultural understandings, storytelling and narrative inquiry.

At Retreats 4U, we provide high quality EMDR and trauma informed services and complementary bespoke services to adults in a residential setting. We provide a safe space that supports our clients overcome the impact of trauma and other mental wellbeing issues, experience meaningful life changes and achieve their goals.

Judit Sanchez


Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Practitioner

Psychologist and EMDR practitioner specializing in trauma therapy. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful technique that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. The therapy involves techniques like rapid eye movements, tapping, and physical movements to cause bilateral brain stimulation. This helps reprocess and desensitize disturbing memories, transforming them into manageable ones.

EMDR is effective for various issues, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and more. It works by addressing everyday problems rooted in maladaptive memories, empowering individuals to overcome triggers and live more positively. I enjoy the outdoors, travelling and surfing.

 

 

 

 

 

Fanny LaRoche


I’m Fanny, a French woman with a heart full of wanderlust.  I’ve embarked on a global adventure, living in America, Australia, the Netherlands, and now Spain. I embrace diverse cultures to deepen my understanding of  human experience.

Over the past 14 years, I’ve had a profound journey of self-discovery, exploring my soul and spiritual realms.  

With a toolkit of Neuro-Emotional Integration Therapy, Hatha Yoga, Reiki, and Aura/Energy Reading, I believe in the magic of holistic healing—addressing the mind, body, and spirit as one—empowering individuals to overcome limitations, release emotional blockages, and discover their true potential.

My yoga classes blend traditional Hatha Yoga with intuitive guidance, creating a space for deep relaxation and healing. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a curious beginner, I will meet you where you are and guide you on a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

 

 

 

 

 

Sophie Nazir


Ayurvedic Practitioner

My name is Sophie from the United Kingdom. After spending my twenties exploring health and wellness, I found my calling in Ayurveda. In 2019, I embarked on an intensive course, becoming an Ayurvedic Practitioner and a member of the Ayurvedic Institute UK.

Ayurveda has helped me cure my monthly migraines, regulate my menstrual cycle, stop hair loss, gain healthy weight, maintain sustained energy levels, and strengthen my immunity. Being a guide for people on their healing journey brings me boundless joy. Ayurveda teaches you to tune into your body on a deep level, fostering profound self-awareness and healing.

 

 

 

 

 

Gemma Randles


Ayurvedic Practitioner

My name is Gemma, a passionate Ayurvedic Practitioner from the UK. I have worked with different Ayurvedic doctors across India, Sri Lanka, and the UK, achieving diploma-level certification. My additional training includes Ayurvedic Beauty Therapy and Pinda Sweda (herbal steam therapies). I have had incredible results with female reproductive issues, skin disorders, mental health, gastrointestinal disorders, and more.

My focus is on preserving the authenticity of Ayurveda while making it accessible to all. I started my medical career in the Western medical system, attaining a BSc in Radiography. Recognizing the importance of both Western and Ayurvedic medicine, I believe in the necessity of preventative measures.

 

 

 

 

 

Alice Marsh


Counselling Psychologist

My name is Alice and I live in Bath, United Kingdom. I qualified as an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist at UWE, Bristol UK in 2018 after working as a psychotherapist for 5 years. I now work in private practice, specialising in relational psychotherapy, EMDR and executive coaching. My passion is Attachment-Focussed EMDR as a way of making change to the way we experience ourselves and others. My work is also Cognitive Analytic and Pesso Boyden Therapy informed.

I have special interests in attachment, perfectionism, neurology, communication and equality. My first degree was in Sociology and Anthropology. I worked in marketing and economic regeneration until my late 20s, when a life changing experience led me to retrain as a practitioner psychologist.
